Mission Statement

I am Monika Gordon, 61 years old and live in Western rural NE with my retired husband Gerald. To find out more, go to my first few posts.

The purpose of this blog is to explore the hobby of sweeping ( short for entering sweepstakes) and contesting. I plan to discuss the different aspects of this hobby which has been in existence since the cave men were getting bored just sitting around with nothing to do. So they started betting each other who could run faster or kill an animal first or attract the attention of a certain woman first.

My discussion will center around tips and tricks to win prizes which is the ultimate goal of our hobby. In addition I will touch upon the history of gambling, especially sweeping and contesting, the luck factor, case histories of winners big and small, clubs and conventions and anything else that has any connection to sweeping and contesting that comes to my attention.
